Our Client is looking for a Florida-licensed attorney with 4+ years of experience in construction or commercial litigation. Must have excellent writing skills. The role involves providing legal advice and guidance to homeowners regarding their construction projects, researching and drafting legal memoranda, attending court hearings, supporting the firm's senior attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, and evidentiary hearings, negotiating on behalf of homeowners with contractors or other lawyers, and all phases of pre-suit and pre-trial litigation.
This job is not dictated by how many hours you can bill (although there are requirements). They need an attorney who is driven by genuinely solving clients' problems in the most efficient way possible.
Their office is in East Boca Raton. This position can be filled by a Florida-licensed attorney working in person, remotely, or hybrid. If you live within driving distance of the office, you will be expected to work in the office at least part-time.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $140,000
- Bonus & Incentives: Up to $18,000 annually in quarterly performance bonuses and origination fees
Their law firm is positioned to help homeowners before, during, and after their custom home builds and major home renovation projects. They provide advice, guidance, and contract drafting services to homeowners before projects. As well as ongoing advice and guidance as a Renovation Concierge during projects.
The firm is on track for aggressive growth, and they need a client-service-oriented, full-time associate attorney experienced in handling disputes between contractors and owners to join their team in support of our Senior Associate and Managing Partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicating empathetically with non-institutional clients in need of valuable, real-life guidance with issues of great importance to them
- Resolving the clients' issues as promptly and efficiently as possible
- Negotiating with opposing parties or their attorneys to resolve ongoing construction disputes
- Supporting the firm's litigation practice through discovery, depositions, mediation, etc
- Researching and drafting legal memoranda, motions, etc
- Guiding homeowners through issues common to major renovation projects, including issues relating to payments, timing, and quality of work
- You are licensed in Florida with 4+ years of construction or commercial litigation experience
- You take immense pride in being an excellent, succinct, and persuasive writer
- All phases of pre-trial litigation
